Community Forum: Chimacum Watershed/How it Works
May 9, 2011
The East Jefferson Watershed Council invites you to:

Curious about the interaction between Chimacum Creek and wells? What does the future of water look like in the Chimacum Basin?
The East Jefferson Watershed Council has been working on finding ways to improve water supplies in the Chimacum Basin. One of its major projects, a computer-based mathematical model of how groundwater and surface water work together, is nearly complete. The Council will showcase the model at the May 25th Forum and hopes the community will join them to learn about how water moves in the valley.

New Website
February 2, 2011
Our new website is up at www.ejwc.org and we are continuing the process of moving content and updating the structure of our new site. Please be patient while we complete this migration and if something seems amiss we are most likely at work behind the scenes making changes! For the time being, our old domain wria17.org is redirected to this new site but now is a good time to update your bookmarks to ejwc.org.

Website Update
January 5, 2011
This winter we will be moving to a new domain with a revamped website: www.ejwc.org
We have begun the process of developing the new site which will incorporate our new name, East Jefferson Watershed Council. We hope to add clarity by reorganizing the structure, making it more searchable and adding content - especially in the education and outreach section. Look for our new site in the next couple of months!

We're Changing Our Name
June 25, 2010
Drum roll, please! The WRIA 17 Planning Unit is changing its name to the East Jefferson Watershed Council. The Planning Unit is making this change for several reasons: no one can pronounce “WRIA,” very few people know where or what “WRIA 17” is, and this group does far more than plan. Over the past ten years, the East Jefferson Watershed Council has created a groundwater monitoring network, purchased and helped local utilities use leak detection equipment, sponsored riparian plantings and water quality workshops for horse owners, and investigated the possibility of creating a water-rights exchange in the watershed, among other projects. We hope that our new name will better reflect our purpose and the place we call home.
Over the next few weeks our website will be changed to reflect our new name and our new logo but for now you can still find us at: wria17.org
